Do you know where you are going in your therapy sessions with your patients? Are your patients getting what they want out of therapy? Getting to outcomes in therapy depends on making a route (plan) from the starting place (assessment)
to the destination (the goal the patient chooses).
This intermediate course is designed to help therapists working with stroke patients understand the making of a therapy
map! An NDT based assessment starts with an individual’s unique life roles/tasks and ends with a data set to launch
therapy. A core competency of NDT is to produce an impairment list that explains the patient’s functional losses. From
that starting point, a plan must be executed to reduce the impact of impairment, restore function, and get the outcomes
you expect and the patient wants.
